New Year is the juncture of time where we welcome the coming year by saying good bye to the previous year with great spirit and enthusiasm. The whole world is decorated with joy and entertainment. Almost every corner of the world celebrates this event. It is the biggest festival of the world and most ancient also. People overwhelmed with great enthusiasm to celebrate this event. There is an ancient history behind the celebration of New Year. If we turn back to past we can see that it was first celebrated in Mesopotamia in around 2000 B.C. This event was celebrated in the month of spring on the first new moon light and this tradition had been followed for so many years that is up to 150 B.C. A similar kind of festival also celebrated in Egypt and Persia on the Equinox, which comes under the month of winter season. But after that the Romans change the date of New Year according to Gregorian calendar and fixed the date 1st January as the first day of New Year. This attempt was taken by the famous Roman king Julius Caesar and till date it is continuing.
We can see difference in celebration this event through out the world as most of the countries celebrate this event in their own way although the pattern is same all over the world. United States and France organize parades to eulogize the event where in Spain and China people take dinner with their family and then go out for celebration. Natives of Brazils come out on road for celebration; they celebrate New Year festival with colourful props, making loud noises, having festive foods and drinks and with singing and dancing on rocking tunes.
People generally decorate their houses, go for dinner or lunch with either their family or friends or beloved one. They do shopping for gifts to exchange with their closed ones and even wishing through greetings cards are also very popular whether through online by sending scraps or through purchasing from shops. People buy balloons, firecrackers, and accessories for decoration. Many hotels, restaurants and clubs through party on the New Year evening, roads and buildings are decorated with artificial lights and people play jolly songs to enjoy with full of joy and fun. History And Celebration Of Thanksgiving Day.

People of Canada and United States celebrate Thanksgiving Day with full of joy and with great enthusiasm. It is a harvest festival. People express their thankfulness to god by celebrating this day with their relatives and friends and pray blessing for material possessions and relationships. People of Canada celebrate it on the 2nd day Monday of October and in United States it is celebrated on 4th Sunday of November.

This day was first celebrated by the pilgrims of Plymouth colony. They gave thanks and gratitude to god for helping them during survival a brutal time in winter. They took three days’ feast providing enough for 53 pilgrims and 90 native Americans. They completed their feast by taking Pumpkins, Lobster, Venison, Fish, Clams, Fruits and Squash etc.

      The holy festival Durga Puja is also known as Dorgothsab is celebrated with full of joy and enthusiasm in whole India and and is specially famous in North and East India. It is the main festival of Bengali's in West Bengal. Except West Bengal, in Delhi, Maharastra, Tripura, Jharkhand, Bihar, Orissa, Chennai and also at other places it celebrates fully. It Is a 5 days festival, where Ma Durga, the goddess of power, also known as Sakti is worshiped. The festival starts from the day Maha Sasthi, Then serially comes the days Maha Saptami, Maha Astami, Maha Nabami and finally Maha dasami, the last day of this festival ends with  immersion of Ma Durga. The date of Duyrga puja generally decided according to the bengali calander which generally held between the months September and October.

        There is a mythology behind this worship as it is said that at the time of rescuing Sita from the demon king ravana, King Ram worshiped  ma Durga as to get her blessing to get win against Ravana in the war. Ganesh Chaturthi - The Divine Festival In India

Ganesh Chaturthi which is also known as 'Vinayaka Chaturthi' or 'Vinayaka Chavithi' is a holy and one of the main festival in India and for Hindus. Ganesha , son of Lord Shiva and Parvatti is worshiped in this occasion. This festival is held on the month Bhadra,( mid August- September) shukla chaturthi (fourth day of the waxing moon period) on his birthday. This festival lasts for 10 day and end on Anant Chaturdasi ( on the 14th day of the waxing moon.).

In India, Three or Fourth months before of Ganesh Chaturthi, clay models with various poses of Shri Ganesh are made and are decorated beautifully and it is usually vary 3/4th of an inch to 25 feet in size. People use to decorate thier houses with flower garland and artificial lights. They bring  shri Ganesh's statue in home to worship or mandapas ( pandals) are made in the locality by collecting money from individuals, clubs, communities etc and decorate pandals by flower garland or other accessories or by ancient or modern themes. The priest generally clad in red shawl dhoti and shawl and then invokes life by chanting mantras into the idol. This ritual is known as 'Pranapratishhtha'. Then Lord Ganesha is worshiped with coconut, jagery, 21 modakas, 21 durva (trefoil), blades of grass and red flowers. A type of red ointment which is made by Kumkum and sandelpaste is applied on the statue.The priest chants Ganesh stotra from Narada Purana,  Ganapati Atharva Shirsha Upanishad and Vediv ymns from Rig Veda thorughout the ceremony. Beside of it cultural programes are organized and many people use to participate in it and enjoy fully.

After 10 days of celebration, finally the statue is taken for immersion (visharjan). many people joined in the procession of immersion of Lord Ganesha on the street by dancing, singing, and people use to shout by saying "Ganapati Bappa Morya, Pudhachya Varsi Laukar ya" that means Lord Ganesha come on next year quickly. They generally immersed statue in the river or sea symbolizing a ritual see-off to Kailash by taking away misfortune of his devotees.
